Whether you are 2 or 22 Kalkan is the place for you!

I don’t mean age by the way!

Whether you are in a group of two; a couple or a small group of friends Kalkan is a fantastic place to relax, unwind and have fun. If romance is what you are after Kalkan allows you to hide away, dine a deux in fantastic rooftop restaurants; watch the sun set and the landscape transformed into a thousand twinkly lights. It’s a special place to enjoy time together and meet new friends at the same time. You can relax by the sea, hang out poolside in a centrally located villa, apartment or hotel. If you fancy really getting away from it all then one of the villages nestled in the cooler air of the mountains such as Islamlar is the place to be. Whether you are a first time visitor or have spent many times there before there is always something new to explore both on your doorstop and further afield; a trip to Patara to bask in miles and miles of sandy beach, saunter the cobbled streets of Kas, take a day trip to Meis or boat trip to Kekova to explore the sunken city.

Equally if you are a larger group, regardless of where you stay Kalkan beaches, restaurants and bars provide for your every need. This season in Kalkan, we were celebrating a ‘big zero’ birthday. There were a dozen of us who travelled from the UK and combined with our Turkish friends, a mixture of locals and long term residents we made up a big party of over 20 guests. None of the restaurants or bars flinched at a large group; they took it all in their stride, pulled tables and chairs together and never failed to provide the usual warm hospitality and exceptional service.

Whatever you want to achieve from your holiday, no matter who you travel with, one thing I guarantee - you will fall in love; Kalkan gets under your skin and into your heart; it’s a special bug that never goes away.
